The little town of Sézanne still bears the marks of its past and will offer you very lovely walks. You will discover ten centuries of history : the church of St Denis, the covered market of a Baltard style, the shady "mails", the vestiges of watchtowers and defensive walls, narrow streets... The church of Saint Denis was built at the 16th century. It is of a Gothic Flamboyant style, and its Renaissance tower dominates Sézanne, with its 42 meters’s height. Admire the elegant balustrade and its gargoyles... [read more]

In the Middle Ages, there was a flesh and meat market under a wooden hall which burned down in 1624. Following a legacy of Doctor Huguier, a surgeon from Sézanne, the actual covered market of Baltard style was edificated in 1892. [read more]

This impressive sundial is magnificent. Built in 1783, a wise report to the epistle of Horace figures on the master piece «  Whichever hour Gods send you happiness, receice it with gratitude ». [read more]

During more than seven centuries, mills have rythmed the life of the inhabitants of Sézanne, bringing them work and prosperity. On this place was a flour mill; all the iron pieces are original. [read more]

Here used to stand the castle of the Chastel, which was built by Thibault the 1st and destroyed during the 13th century. The Duke of Orléans, who was imprisoned in 1415 during the Battle of Azincourt, had a new castle built in 1440. [read more]
