Nature, parks and gardens

Banks of the Seine, Marcilly sur Seine

Have a walk along the Seine : magnificent style houses are lining the banks, a path will lead you to the neighbouring villages. Bathing allowed. [read more]

Botanical garden of Marnay sur Seine

In this place, you will discover plants and flower and get to learn a lot about them. This garden gathers more than 3 thousand species of plants and flowers coming from all over the world. It has been divided into thematic gardens. A great number of perfumes, colours and tastes will embellish your visit, from the rose garden to the pots theatre, going through the vegetable garden specialized in old varieties of vegetables. Forest of the Traconne

Leave Sézanne and head towards Nogent sur Seine on the D951. You will reach Barbonne Fayel then you will take the D49 to join La Forestière. Slow down and take a look at the Champagne meadow. You will reach the roundabout of the Etoile where you can stop and park. From here, you have a choice between a lot of pedestrian paths. The mashes of Saint Gond, Reuves

The marshes of Saint Gond, large wet area, are a mix of unique natural environments inside the Champagne area, such as peatbogs, marshes, wet and dry meadows full of orchids. In between earth and water, the marshes take in a lot of animal and vegetal species among the rarest in France. Two dicovery routes are open to the public from May to September. [read more]

The source "Minette", Orbais l’Abbaye

Come and take a look at the Source Minette. You may stroll through a green setting dominated by the Minette mill, one of the six mills that used to receive water from the spring. Departure near the church then follow the yellow signs. [read more]
